Invisalign vs. Other Clear Aligner Systems: What’s the Difference?

Both Invisalign™ and other clear aligners (such as 32Co™) achieve the same goal - straightening your teeth using nearly invisible, removable aligners. A simple way to think about this is by comparing two different bottled water brands: they both quench your thirst and are equally effective, but they come with different labels, pricing, and distribution. Similarly, Invisalign and 32Co are different brands of clear aligners, but the results and treatment process are very similar.

Understanding the Differences

One key distinction is Invisalign’s long history and global presence. Invisalign was one of the first brands to introduce clear aligners and held a monopoly in this field for many years. Today, however, there are many fantastic clear aligner brands available, offering patients more choice without compromising on quality.

The success of any clear aligner treatment depends on:

  • Precise treatment planning tailored to your unique dental needs.

  • Wearing the aligners consistently (at least 22 hours per day).

  • A perfect aligner fit, ensuring comfort and treatment effectiveness.

At William Place Dental Aesthetics, we are committed to providing carefully planned treatments that deliver great results - whichever brand you choose.

Comparison of the Systems We Offer

Invisalign Go™

  • A budget-friendly option from Invisalign, suitable for mild to moderate alignment issues.

  • Delivers excellent results but has limitations compared to full Invisalign systems.

  • More complex cases may require a referral to a specialist orthodontist.

Other Clear Aligners (like 32Co™)

  • A highly effective and often more cost-efficient option.

  • 32Co has become a popular choice among both patients and clinicians due to its excellent service and ability to treat a variety of cases, from mild to moderately complex.

  • For very complex cases, a referral to a specialist orthodontist might still be necessary.

Choosing the Right System for You

Not all dentists work with both Invisalign and other clear aligners, so it’s important to note that an Invisalign consultation and a clear aligner consultation are not interchangeable. If you are specifically interested in Invisalign, we will ensure you see a dentist experienced in that system. For other clear aligner options, we will arrange a consultation with one of our dentists who works with 32Co.

Regardless of which system you choose, our team is here to guide you through the process and ensure you achieve a confident, straighter smile with expert care and support.
