Lasting impressions... with smiles that last
The teeth and jaw bones form the scaffolding that supports the face. As we get older, loss of teeth, or reducing bone levels due to gum disease can result in this scaffolding gradually collapsing over time. A reduction in facial height, or getting long in the tooth are detrimental to appearances, and a lifetime of good dental care is the best way to minimize these risks.
Maintaining dental health
Regular dental care catches dental problems early, and maintains the scaffolding of your face, ensuring that teeth and the supporting structures are preserved and protected. The most important aspect of dental maintenance is a combination of excellent home care and professional cleaning to avoid gum damage and bone loss.
Simple cosmetic contouring or tooth whitening may provide a welcome uplift, and is within the reach of everyone. For those in search of more, minimally invasive fingernail thin veneers can provide permanent tooth whitening, or instant orthodontics, and facial procedures such as wrinkle relaxation have the power to create that WOW factor
Composite bonding offers a natural looking way to repair damaged or discoloured teeth. It can also be used to close gaps, lengthen teeth and protect part of a root that has been exposed due to gum recession.
It is a quick and cost effective procedure because there is no need for any part to be specially manufactured and it can usually be put in place during just one visit.
Usually there is no need to remove any healthy tooth during the process and anaesthesia is often not necessary unless the resin is being used to fill a cavity.
We will choose a composite shade that will match your teeth, then slightly roughen the surface of the tooth with a special gel before a conditioning liquid is applied, to ensure that the bonding will adhere to your tooth.
Next your dentist will apply the composite and shape as required. This will then be hardened under a special curing light. Finally, it will be polished to match the rest of your teeth.
The procedure will take around 30 minutes to an hour. However If you are having more than one tooth treated the procedure may take longer.
Dental Veneers - instant smile lifts!
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front of a tooth, similar to a false fingernail. Porcelain does not stain or change colour with time, providing longlasting tooth whitening. If you are unhappy with the size, shape or colour of your teeth, veneers may be the solution for you. They can be used in a variety of circumstances:
instant whitening - to permanently mask discolouration
instant orthodontics - to "align" crooked or spaced teeth
instant makeovers - to reshape chipped, pointed, small or irregular teeth
Minimally Invasive Smile Makeover - Align Bleach & Bond technique
Minimally invasive smile makeovers offer patients an alternative option to traditional cosmetic dentistry, such as veneers.
Preserve Natural Teeth
With any of the minimally invasive treatments we offer the focus is to preserve as much of the patient’s natural tooth as possible. Our goal is to give you an exquisite smile restoration that is natural looking and radiant while keeping your natural healthy teeth.
Minimally invasive smile restoration options allow patients to enhance their smiles without multiple lengthy visits. Many patients are surprised by the number of options available and are pleased to find they can improve their smile without numerous invasive procedures.
Patients are often pleased with the results of their minimally invasive smile makeover procedure. Through our top-of-the-line treatments, patients can see noticeable difference in their smiles and confidence.
Pre-book your appointments
Regular attendance to see your Dentist and Hygienist helps us to improve and maintain your oral health, and several studies have shown that the prevention of gum disease is linked to general health and well-being. There is also clear evidence within our practice that patients who attend regular examination and hygiene appointments require less treatment overall. That's why we ask all patients to pre-book their next appointments before they leave.
Our hygienists work in partnership with you to keep you on track for healthy beautiful smiles by providing regular professional cleaning to support your home care routine. All visible stains are removed and difficult to reach areas are cleaned carefully to remove tartar and plaque deposits, leaving your mouth fresh and clean, and keeping bad breath away. Your teeth will then get a final polish using a high gloss diamond paste and you will be given personalised advice on the best aids to use.
Shorter appointments costing £52 are reserved for regular patients who need lighter support because they have excellent home care routines.
What is Invisalign®?
A smile can change everything. Your confidence. Your outlook. Your life.
And with Invisalign, achieving the smile you always dreamed of doesn’t have to be a big deal. In fact, it barely has to impact your day-to-day life at all.
Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.
Comfortable, clear and removable – Invisalign transforms your smile without disrupting your life. Something that over 3 million people worldwide have already discovered.
Are you ready for your new smile?

Teeth whitening is an effective and non-invasive way of lightening teeth to their natural colour without removing any tooth surface. Tooth whitening works by removing stains that tend to build up on teeth, especially those caused by tea, coffee, red wine, tobacco or spicy foods, and is one of many treatments at our disposable to lift your smile.
How does this work?
Whitening can be likened to a facial for teeth. When placed in close proximity to the teeth, the whitening agent helps to unlock pores in teeth so that stains are gently removed, leaving teeth cleaner and brighter. Whiter teeth can rejuvenate your smile, and the effects can last for quite some time, with the right care.
Whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home, and at a time that's suites you. Impressions are taken of your mouth and thin, clear custom made close fitting trays are given to you along with the whitening gel, to wear for a short time every day.
Home whitening can take several weeks, depending on the shade you desire.
You need a check-up first!
Prior to whitening, it is important to have a dental check-up to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy and to confirm that whitening is a suitable option for you. Although teeth themselves whiten well, any fillings or crowns will remain the same colour and may need replacing to match the new lighter colour of your teeth. Tooth whitening may also be discussed prior to veneers, crowns or bridges, to confirm that you are happy with the final colour of all the teeth you show when you smile
Dental Implants - 0% finance available*
Dental implants provided at William Place Dental Practice offer a permanent alternative to some of the difficulties of dentures. Dentures, especially on the lower jaw, are prone to slipping and sliding, which can make chewing and speaking a difficult and potentially embarrassing chore. Because they utilise titanium anchors that are fused with the jawbone (replicating the natural root structure of a tooth), dental implants are more secure and often more comfortable than removable dentures while looking and feeling like real teeth.
What are the benefits of dental implants?
Dental implants function in exactly the same way as natural teeth.
Implants look like natural teeth.
Implants provide anchorage for dentures, crowns and bridges; this makes the restorations more stable and improves their performance.
Dental implants prevent bone loss, which helps to preserve the facial characteristics.
Dental implants are a long-term solution. If cared for properly they can last a lifetime.
Healthy teeth will not be damaged or affected by dental implants.
Dentures anchored by implants do not affect speech.
