Composite bonding
​
Composite bonding offers a natural looking way to repair damaged or discoloured teeth. It can also be used to close gaps, lengthen teeth and protect part of a root that has been exposed due to gum recession.
It is a quick and cost effective procedure because there is no need for any part to be specially manufactured and it can usually be put in place during just one visit.
Usually there is no need to remove any healthy tooth during the process and anaesthesia is often not necessary unless the resin is being used to fill a cavity.

We will choose a composite shade that will match your teeth, then slightly roughen the surface of the tooth with a special gel before a conditioning liquid is applied, to ensure that the bonding will adhere to your tooth.
Next your dentist will apply the composite and shape as required. This will then be hardened under a special curing light. Finally, it will be polished to match the rest of your teeth.
The procedure will take around 30 minutes to an hour. However If you are having more than one tooth treated the procedure may take longer.

Sleepwell™ - Mandibular Advancement Splint (MAS) – used for the treatment of snoring and mild-moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).

What is Snoring?
Snoring is more than just a disruptive noise at night. Simple snoring, as it is known, is caused by the partial closure of the upper airway during sleep. The resultant reduction in airflow is what causes the snoring sound, as the soft tissues at the back of the throat vibrate.
Certain factors can increase the likelihood of snoring, such as: weight, age, gender, alcohol, smoking and sleeping position. Middle-aged males are three times more likely to suffer from snoring than their female counterpart.
Ranging from 50-100 decibels, the equivalent of a pneumatic drill, snoring can lead to relationship issues, exhaustion, increased stress and depression. In some cases, though not all, snoring can also be indicative of a condition called Obstructive Sleep Apnoea - a potentially life-threatening condition if left untreated.

What is Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA)?
Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) is caused by the repeated collapsing of the airway during sleep, resulting in complete (apnoea) or partial (hypopnoea) obstruction of the airflow for 10 seconds or more.
To a bed partner, these episodes can be identified as the sufferer stopping breathing during the night, often waking themselves up with a snort or gasp.
​
Left untreated, these regular disruptions to sleep can lead to serious consequences for the sufferer – and their bed partner - including: increased blood pressure, heightened risk of cardiovascular disease, strokes, diabetes and excessive daytime sleepiness.
There are a number of solutions available for both Snoring and OSA. Mandibular Advancement Splints (MAS) are commonly used for the treatment of both. Worn during sleep, a MAS works to prevent the closure of the airway by holding the lower jaw in a forward position. This keeps the airway open and unobstructed during sleep – preventing the snoring from occurring.
There are a number of splints available on the market - Sleepwell™ has been shown to be the most clinically successful in clinical studies.​

There is also clear evidence within our practice that patients who attend regular examination and hygiene appointments require less treatment overall. That's why we ask all patients to pre-book their next appointments before they leave.
Hygienist visit
Our hygienists work in partnership with you to keep you on track for healthy beautiful smiles by providing regular professional cleaning to support your home care routine. All visible stains are removed and difficult to reach areas are cleaned carefully to remove tartar and plaque deposits, leaving your mouth fresh and clean, and keeping bad breath away. Your teeth will then get a final polish using a high gloss diamond paste and you will be given personalised advice on the best aids to use. If you havent't visited a hygienist in a long time, you might require more than one appointment.

Wrinkle relaxing treatment is a simple treatment which can dramatically soften facial expression lines, frown lines and crow's feet without surgery, scars and recovery time. When we frown, smile or laugh we contract our face into folds of skin that form dynamic wrinkles and lines such as "crow’s feet", forehead lines or "worry lines". What is involved?
