How much does composite bonding cost in London?
Composite bonding is one of the most searched-for cosmetic treatments in London, and one of the hardest to compare on price. Some clinics quote per tooth, some per smile, and some don’t publish a price at all. This guide explains what you’re actually paying for, so you can compare like with like.
The short answer
At our practice in Bow, East London, composite bonding starts at £366. Your final price depends on how many teeth are treated and how much composite each one needs, and you’ll always get a written quote before anything starts. Every fee is published in our fee guide.
What changes the price?
How many teeth. Some people need one chipped edge repaired. Others want the six or eight teeth that show when they smile reshaped so they match. That’s the biggest single factor.
Edge bonding or composite veneers. Edge bonding adds composite to the biting edges only, so it’s quicker and uses less material. Composite veneers cover the whole front surface of each tooth, which takes longer and costs more, but can change colour and shape completely.
What needs doing first. Bonding has to go onto healthy teeth and gums. If you need a filling or a hygiene visit first, that’s priced separately. If you’d like brighter teeth, whitening comes before bonding, because composite doesn’t lighten with whitening gel.
Time and skill. Bonding is sculpted by hand, tooth by tooth. A careful result on several teeth can take a few hours in the chair. Much of what you pay for is the dentist’s time and eye.
Why prices vary so much across London
Two quotes that look different may not be quoting the same thing. When you compare, ask:
- Is the price per tooth or for the whole treatment?
- Is the consultation, shade matching and final polish included?
- Who will actually do the bonding? Every dentist in the UK is on the GDC register, and you can check their number. Ours are listed on our team page.
- Can you see their own before-and-after photos? You can see some of ours on our composite bonding page.
- What happens if a piece chips in the first few months?
A very low price can mean very thin layers, little time spent shaping, or no review afterwards. None of that shows on day one, but it shows within a year.

Cost over time
Bonding typically lasts 3 to 7 years, sometimes longer. It can usually be polished, repaired or topped up rather than redone from scratch, which keeps the long-term cost down. Regular hygienist visits, not biting hard things, and wearing a nightguard if you grind your teeth all help it last.
Can you spread the cost?
Yes. Finance through Tabeo is available on treatment over £1,000, which often applies when several teeth are bonded. Interest-free options are available on shorter terms. Finance is subject to status, and we act as a credit broker, not a lender. Ask us for a personalised illustration.
A real example
James came to us with worn, chipped and stained front teeth. After a hygiene visit, a filling and whitening, we rebuilt his top front eight teeth with composite veneers in a single long visit. You can see his before-and-after photos and hear him talk about it on our composite bonding page. In his words: “I wish I’d just done it five, 10 years ago.”
